The pistachio chicken linguini is the best pasta dish I have ever eaten by far. The spinach salad was very fresh and the strawberries were a delicious surprise. My husband had the pan fried haddock which was seared to perfection. Our only suggestion would be that the home fries had more flavor. The coconut cram dream pie was delish! Our waitress was absolutely delightful, personable and professional. She exuded joy and made our anniversary extra special with a happy anniversary sign and forget-me-nots. We will definitely be back. Thank you so much for adding so much to our special day

We enjoyed a delicious brunch here in their charming patio area. We’re planning to return at night to take in more of the ambiance with the string lights they have placed up throughout the vines. We both loved our eggs Benedict (one smoked salmon and one lobster); the hollandaise sauce was to die for. The salad that came with the meal was incredibly delicious. The home fries were seasoned and cooked perfectly and our server was very kind and attentive. Thanks for a delicious experience!

Fantastic little spot with excellent service. But the standing ovation goes to the veggie burger with Bombay sauce. Absolutely the best we’ve ever had. Homemade patty and taste is out of this world. Will be back again before our trip is finished. This is exactly how a veggie burger should be made.

I am super critical of restaurants as I cook a lot and not many places impress me with their dishes. I didn't expect much from Trellis cafe, this was the closest place to one of the beaches in the area so we went there after our adventures. Every single dish was amazing - from African Peanut soup, to fish cakes, to lamb burger. Simply great tasting food, I went back there again with my kids just three days later! We got to sit on the patio with our dog and enjoy the sunshine and delicious food. Prices are quite reasonable as well. The only thing we didn't quite like was coffee, as it didn't taste so great. Otherwise, I'd be back again for sure!

This cute little spot in Hubbards, Nova Scotia has apparently been a respected fixture for many years. You can't help noticing the charming trellis-covered patio filled with happy, lively people as you drive past! I had the great fortune of sampling one of the best fish-cake dishes in recent memory. It had a delicious, fresh fish flavour and was a genuine patty -- firm, golden-brown, and a bit crisp on the outside. Among the "sides" options, I chose the homemade baby spinach salad with sliced, fresh strawberries. It was just the right combination for such a beautiful, sunny afternoon's dining al fresco. In the photo, you can see what remained of my drink, my first (and arguably the best) Arnold Palmer I've ever had! Sarah, our lovely, friendly, and delightful server (who happens to be the owner's daughter), introduced me to this simple and brilliant concoction of iced tea and lemonade. My thirst was completely quenched and now I can't wait until my next order (I think they're addictive)! Seeing how busy this little roadside icon has been over the years, I'd say it's fair to bet that they're consistent in their food and offerings. There were some nice vegetarian and gluten-free options available, so that's handy for some of us. I know it's now officially on my radar for the next trip through the Hubbards-Chester area. I hope you'll enjoy this little gem, too.

The staff were very friendly! The restaurant was clean and organized. The prices were about standard. Our food came in a good amount of time. Our party of 4, enjoyed breakfast sandwiches, fishcakes with beans, and eggs Benedict. I had the eggs Benedict and it was the star of the show! There was a good amount of bacon and Hollandaise sauce. The salad and home fries were also very good! The salad that came with the eggs bennie, could not have been paired any better! Another person at our table had fish cakes with beans with very wide cut toast (he really enjoyed it) The breakfast sandwiches where also good. One of the sandwiches was made vegetarian by removing the meat option and adding tomato and lettuce. Perhaps that should be a regular menu item for brunch. Everyone was happy! Our coffee was a little too strong for us. We used up all the cream at our table and the coffee was still very very dark. Dark roast is not our favorite, but at the same time it did taste fresh. Seems to be a trend these days to have very dark house coffee. Make sure to bring a sweater if you get cold easily. We were comfortable. All positive!
